The Junior League of Asheville, Inc. (JLA) is pleased to announce the return of TOUCH-A-TRUCK Family Festival,
Saturday, October 28, 2023 at the Asheville Outlets. TOUCH-A-TRUCK is a community wide event where both kids
and kids at heart have the opportunity to see, touch, and learn about vehicles of all types, including public service,
emergency, utility, construction, transportation, and delivery—all in one place! Guests will get to meet the drivers
and people who operate these vehicles.
Additional activities on-site will include “truck-or-treat” throughout the event, nonprofit organizations that focus on
family and children’s issues, complimentary facepainting and balloon creations, a costume parade at 12:00 and other
special activities—all included with the price of admission. Parental supervision is required and cameras are highly
recommended to capture the day’s special adventures. Family-friendly Halloween costumes for adults and kids alike
are strongly encouraged, but not required.
Last year’s event hosted more than 1,300 attendees from the Asheville community and the surrounding areas. The
TOUCH-A-TRUCK Family Festival offers local organizations and companies a unique opportunity to showcase their
brand and interact with the community in a fun and educational environment. There are several opportunities for
organizations to participate: event sponsorship, truck or vehicle exhibition, or in-kind support.
The Junior League of Asheville organizes TOUCH-A-TRUCK Family Festival for the community to enjoy. It also
supports the League’s mission to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer
action, collaboration, and training.
President Jennifer Hoffman had this to say about the event: “The Junior League of Asheville is a unique organization
that gives women in our community an opportunity to learn new skills and immediately put them into practice.
TOUCH-A-TRUCK Family Festival gives our members the opportunity to plan an incredible event for our community,
raise funds to support our grant-giving program, and put our skills to work. It’s one of the League’s favorite projects
to work on with new activities added each year.”
