Volunteer Expo 2024 – Press Release

Junior League of Asheville’s 6th Annual Volunteer Expo

WHEN: Saturday, March 24, 2023 from Noon-3 pm

WHERE: Crowne Plaza Resort Expo Center,

1 Resort Drive, Asheville, NC 28806

The Junior League of Asheville, Inc. (JLA) is pleased to announce that it will hold its Sixth Annual Volunteer Expo on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the Crowne Plaza Expo Center from noon to 3 pm. Modeled after a job fair, this free event will feature more than 60 local nonprofits looking to fill ongoing and future volunteer needs. Nonprofits in almost every area of community concern will be present at the event: health, poverty, legal aid, environmental stewardship, women’s issues, arts, civic leadership, technology, education, and animal welfare.

Now in our sixth year, the JLA Volunteer Expo continues to grow. The 2023 event featured over 50 nonprofits and was attended by more than 250 community members who were able to network and sign up to volunteer with nonprofit organizations.

The 2024 Volunteer Expo is now accepting applications. Due to the increase in interest for booths at the Expo, the League will jury all applications received instead of awarding booths on a first-come-first-served basis. This will ensure a mix of volunteer opportunities in various service areas and allow new nonprofits a chance to have a booth at the event.

If you are a nonprofit interested in participating in the 2024 Volunteer Expo, please complete the Volunteer Expo NFP Application.

Jennifer Hoffman, JLA President, had this to say about the Volunteer Expo: “The Volunteer Expo is a signature event for the JLA as well as a way to connect with and support our vibrant and passionate nonprofit community. We are thrilled to host this event each year – we’ve seen growth each year and we’re so proud of the platform this event provides to nonprofits in Western North Carolina.  We hope that everyone attending this event finds an organization that speaks to their skills and interests, and inspires them to give back to our community.”

The Junior League of Asheville organizes a Volunteer Expo for the community to connect with non-profit organizations and discover new ways to give back and support the hard work of these non-profits.  It also supports the League’s mission of promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving our community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
